FBI Director Kash Patel and country singer Alexis Wilkins announced their engagement Sunday, marking the latest development in the couple’s relationship that has drawn public attention since Patel became FBI director.

Wilkins, 27, shared a black-and-white photo of herself and Patel, 46, showing off her engagement ring. She captioned the post, “Went and got the law involved,” before Patel reshared the announcement on his X account with heart and engagement-ring emojis.

The couple has been dating since 2023 after meeting at an event in Nashville. Wilkins was also present when Patel was sworn in as FBI director in February 2025. She is a country singer and political commentator who released her debut album in 2023 and has appeared at several conservative and Trump-related events.

Their relationship has previously attracted scrutiny over Patel’s use of government aircraft for personal travel, including a trip to State College, Pennsylvania, where Wilkins performed the national anthem at a professional wrestling event. Patel has defended his personal travel, saying he is required to use government aircraft and has reimbursed personal expenses in accordance with federal rules.

Wilkins has also publicly defended Patel amid criticism of his leadership of the FBI. The couple has appeared together at several high-profile events, including the White House’s UFC Freedom 250 event in June.

Neither Patel nor Wilkins has announced a wedding date.
