The Georgia Bulldogs wasted little time taking control at Sanford Stadium, opening the game with an 11-play, 79-yard touchdown drive that ended with Chauncey Bowens scoring from two yards out.

The Bulldogs continued to pressure Oklahoma throughout the first half, while the Sooners struggled to generate much offensively. Georgia built a 7-0 lead after the opening quarter before exploding for three more touchdowns in the second.

Quarterback Gunner Stockton connected with Ethan Barbour for a short touchdown during the second quarter, and Georgia's defense then produced one of the game's biggest plays.

On a fourth-down attempt, Georgia linebacker Raylen Wilson forced Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer to fumble. Linebacker Chris Cole recovered the loose ball and returned it 23 yards to the Oklahoma 11-yard line, setting up another Georgia touchdown.

Cole had an impact on another Oklahoma turnover earlier in the game, recovering his second fumble of the afternoon. His defensive performance helped Georgia take a 28-0 advantage into halftime.

Stockton finished the first half 10-of-12 passing for 103 yards and a touchdown as Georgia repeatedly moved the ball while its defense kept Oklahoma off the scoreboard.

Oklahoma finally got on the board in the third quarter when Mateer connected with Rocky Beers for a touchdown, cutting the deficit to 28-6. The Sooners were unable to turn the score into a comeback, however.

Georgia added another field goal in the third quarter before putting the game away with 10 more points in the fourth. Oklahoma managed one additional touchdown, but the Bulldogs had already built an insurmountable lead.

The victory moved Georgia to 4-0 on the season and gave the No. 2 Bulldogs another statement win as they continued their SEC schedule. Oklahoma fell to 2-2 with the loss.

The matchup was only the second meeting between the programs. Georgia previously defeated Oklahoma 54-48 in double overtime in the 2018 College Football Playoff semifinal, making Saturday's matchup the first time the Sooners had played at Sanford Stadium.
