Luka Doncic scored a season-high 53 points to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 124-118 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night at Crypto.com Arena.

Doncic added five rebounds and five assists while shooting 17 of 33 from the field, including a 62-foot three-pointer at halftime. His performance marked his 11th career 50-point game and fourth straight outing with at least 40 points. Austin Reaves contributed 25 points for the Lakers.

The win extended the Lakers' winning streak to four games and improved their record to 8-2. They avenged an earlier 136-129 home loss to Portland on October 27.

Portland led by as many as 16 points in the first half but saw the Lakers mount a comeback with a strong third quarter. The Trail Blazers, who fell to 6-2, had their three-game winning streak snapped in their second loss of the season. Deni Avdija and Damian Lillard each scored 22 points for Portland.

The contest served as an Emirates NBA Cup group play game. The Lakers moved to 1-1 in the tournament while the Blazers dropped to 0-1.

Walker Kessler added 16 points and 12 rebounds for Los Angeles. Donovan Clingan posted 17 points and 11 rebounds for Portland.

Both teams rank among the top offensive units early in the 2026-27 season, with the Lakers and Trail Blazers combining for high-scoring affairs in their recent meetings.
