Little Caesars has begun testing drone deliveries of full family pizza meals in Wylie, Texas, marking a milestone in aerial food delivery. The partnership with Flytrex utilizes the company's newly introduced Sky2 drone, capable of carrying up to 8.8 pounds, enough for two large 16-inch pizzas along with sides like Crazy Bread and Crazy Puffs or 20-ounce drinks.
The service launched at a Little Caesars store in Wylie, a Dallas suburb, with the announcement made on April 23, 2026, and operations now live. Customers within a four-mile radius can place orders through the Flytrex app, which integrates directly with Little Caesars' point-of-sale systems for seamless preparation. Staff prepares orders curbside for remote drone pickup, and the aircraft completes the journey autonomously, hovering above the delivery point to lower the package via tether in an average of 4.5 minutes from takeoff.
"Flytrex is laser-focused on making on-demand food delivery by drone a reality for everyday families," said Amit Regev, CEO and co-founder of Flytrex. "Until now, drones simply weren't capable of delivering a full family meal. The Sky2 changes that." Trish Heusel, vice president of innovation at Little Caesars, added, "Partnering with Flytrex to bring full family meals by drone delivery is a major leap forward, and a clear example of how we’re pushing the boundaries of convenience, speed, and accessibility in our category."
The Sky2 drone features an octocopter design with eight motors for redundancy, a dual-battery setup, precise GNSS navigation, and AI flight management, prioritizing safety. Flytrex, which has completed over 200,000 deliveries in North Carolina and Texas, received FAA approval for beyond-visual-line-of-sight operations, enabling suburban expansions.
This test builds on prior collaborations between the companies, including drone trials in Texas and North Carolina in 2023. Flytrex has also partnered with Uber Eats and DoorDash for broader integrations. The company aims to scale nationwide, targeting major metro areas to reach over 100 million people.
