The No. 8 Florida Gators suffered their first loss of the 2026 season in a lopsided 45-17 defeat to the No. 25 Missouri Tigers on Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Columbia, Missouri.
Missouri built on a strong second quarter and pulled away decisively in the second half. The Tigers finished with 560 total yards compared to Florida's 325, including 220 rushing yards that highlighted their ground attack.
Running back Jamal Roberts led Missouri with 211 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Austin Simmons completed 23 of 30 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Donovan Olugbode added six receptions for 94 yards and a score.
Florida managed just 42 rushing yards on the day. The Gators scored first with a field goal but trailed 20-10 at halftime after Missouri responded with 17 points in the second quarter.
The Tigers extended their lead with 10 points in the third quarter and 15 more in the fourth to seal the blowout. Florida added a late touchdown but could not mount a meaningful comeback.
Entering the matchup, Florida stood at 4-0 after victories over Florida Atlantic, Campbell, Auburn, and then-No. 4 Ole Miss. Missouri improved to 4-1 with the win.
The result marks a significant statement victory for Missouri on Homecoming and hands new Florida coach Jon Sumrall his first loss of the season.
