Patrick Clancy says he and his new wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, are preparing to start a family of their own. The couple discussed their plans Sunday night during an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes.”

Clancy was previously married to Lindsay Clancy, who is charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of their children, 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan. Prosecutors allege Lindsay Clancy strangled the children at the family’s home in 2023 before attempting to take her own life.

Her defense has argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time of the killings. The case became a national discussion about postpartum mental health and maternal health care. Her trial lasted more than five weeks before ending in a mistrial after jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict following seven days of deliberations.

During the interview, Clancy said he looks forward to telling a future child about the siblings they never knew. Danis, a fertility specialist, said she understands that she cannot erase the loss but wants to help Clancy continue grieving while keeping the memory of his children alive.

Clancy met Danis through a running club in New York City about a year after his children's deaths. The couple married in April, and Clancy said his life has changed in a positive way since meeting her.

The couple's plans come as Clancy continues to deal with the loss of his children and the ongoing legal case surrounding their deaths.
