Reform UK received a second £36 million donation in as many days on Saturday, with cryptocurrency investor Christopher Harborne matching the record-breaking sum given by fellow crypto billionaire Ben Delo.

Harborne, the party's largest prior donor, announced the match in an article for The Telegraph, citing his competitive spirit after learning of Delo's contribution late Friday. The Thailand-based entrepreneur stated he expects nothing in return beyond a party ready for government.

Delo, co-founder of the BitMEX cryptocurrency platform, had pledged the initial record donation to ensure a fair fight at the next general election. The Sheffield-born billionaire, who received a pardon from U.S. President Donald Trump over prior legal issues, described the £36 million as the equivalent of £1 million per month until 2029 but paid upfront.

The combined £72 million exceeds the total donations received by all UK political parties in the previous year. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage said the generosity would allow the party to fight and win the next general election on a level playing field. A party spokesman noted plans to hire up to 400 campaign managers in target constituencies and develop the most comprehensive government plan ever.

Reform has faced recent scrutiny over its finances, including a police investigation into donation rules. The new funding arrives as the party prepares for potential early elections under Labour Prime Minister Andy Burnham.

These donations surpass previous records, including a £10 million bequest to the Conservatives and Harborne's own earlier £9 million gift to Reform. Since 2021, Reform has now raised over £110 million, including these gifts, compared to higher lifetime totals for the major parties.
