Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) is launching a new economic messaging project focused on the rising cost of living and changes in the U.S. economy ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
Scott announced the project Tuesday, describing it as an educational effort rather than a legislative package. The initiative will include a series of videos, speeches, and a presentation aimed at explaining how economic conditions have changed and outlining possible ways to address affordability concerns.
“I put together a project with one goal: to be honest with the American public about how our economy has drastically changed, how the American Dream is out of reach for so many, and most importantly, how we can fix it,” Scott said in announcing the project.
Families are facing an affordability crisis across our country — costs are up, paychecks are covering less, & the American Dream feels out of reach.

Some say socialism is the answer, but the truth is it'll only make matters worse. We can’t give up on the American Dream.

The Florida senator has previously released broad policy agendas. In 2022, while serving as chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Scott released an 11-point “Plan to Rescue America” covering taxes, federal spending and other policy areas. The proposal generated debate, including over provisions involving federal legislation expiring after five years unless renewed. Scott later revised the proposal to exempt Social Security, Medicare, national security and veterans' benefits from that provision.
Scott has continued to focus on economic issues during his second Senate term, including trade, federal spending and homeownership. His Senate office has highlighted affordability and opportunities for families as recurring issues in his economic agenda.
The new project comes as affordability and household costs remain prominent issues heading into the 2026 midterm elections. Scott, who won reelection to the Senate in 2024, has also been mentioned in discussions surrounding potential Republican candidates for the 2028 presidential race, though the new project is being presented as an economic education and messaging effort rather than a presidential campaign.
Scott said the project will focus on explaining the economic changes affecting Americans and presenting his proposed solutions in a series of upcoming releases.
