Donald Trump Jr. declared that the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement will carry forward the mission of the late Charlie Kirk during events marking the one-year anniversary of the conservative activist’s assassination.

During Thursday's event, the president’s son said Kirk inspired a movement to stand up to leftists.

“We will not back down,” Trump Jr. said. “We will not fold. We will honor Charlie by carrying his torch to save this nation that we all love so dearly.”

Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed on September 10, 2025, while speaking at Utah Valley University in Utah.

Many speakers, including Trump Jr., took the podium to offer condolences to the Kirk family and pledge that his legacy will live on.

While eulogizing the slain conservative activist, Trump Jr. emphasized that Kirk’s death must not end the story.

“We are all Charlie,” he said, underscoring unity around faith, family, and country.

President Trump also paid tribute Wednesday night at the Republican Midterm Convention, noting that Kirk was assassinated for speaking the truth.

The president said the radical left’s response exposed deeper divisions and urged voters not to let opponents win in the upcoming midterms.

Lucas Miles, a pastor and a Turning Point vice president, spoke on Kirk's legacy on the one-year anniversary of his death.

He ticked off a list of Turning Point’s accomplishments: thousands of chapters, more than a billion social media views. “Turning Point is not dead,” Miles said. “The organization Charlie founded is still growing.”

“They could take the man,” Miles said. “They could not take the mission.”
