President Donald Trump is escalating his criticism of Fox News, arguing that the network is failing to adequately cover his recent campaign rallies as Republicans prepare for the November midterm elections.

Trump made the comments Sunday on Truth Social after holding rallies in Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama and Ohio. He said the events drew large crowds and argued that Fox viewers should be able to see the gatherings and hear directly from the president.

“Sad to see that Fox & Friends is not covering our packed house and incredibly enthusiastic” rally in Ohio or his events in Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma, Trump wrote.

Trump said the rallies showed the strength of the Republican Party and warned Fox that its audience expects coverage of the events.

“Our people want to see our Rallies, and reports on our Rallies, on FoxNews, or they will very quickly stop watching,” Trump wrote.

The president also criticized the network for giving airtime to Democratic and liberal voices without what he considers adequate conservative pushback.

Trump's latest criticism comes amid continuing tensions between the president and Fox following the September departure of longtime anchor Maria Bartiromo. Trump has linked her departure to his broader complaints about the network's coverage of his administration.

“Who makes these decisions at FoxNews?” Trump wrote Sunday, arguing that the same person responsible for Bartiromo's departure had opposed coverage of Trump.

Trump concluded his message by warning Fox that continued dissatisfaction among conservative viewers could eventually hurt its ratings.

“Cover our ‘happenings,’” Trump wrote, “or FoxNews will soon have the ratings of FAKE NEWS CNN or MSNOW (MSDNC).”
