Elon Musk stated that passengers in Tesla's Cybercab will be able to connect a PlayStation or Xbox console directly to the robotaxi's 22-inch touchscreen.
Musk commented in a reply on X to an official Tesla post from September 3 that highlighted the vehicle's cabin features. The post described the Cybercab as offering theater, music, and gaming apps on its large screen while providing a space for productivity or relaxation during autonomous rides. It also noted upcoming V5 Starlink hardware for connectivity.
"You will be able to plug in your PlayStation or Xbox," Musk wrote.
The announcement aligns with the Cybertruck's design as a purpose-built autonomous vehicle without a steering wheel or pedals. This layout shifts focus to passenger experience in the cabin. The 22-inch central touchscreen is the largest display Tesla has installed in any production vehicle, according to EPA certification documents.
Tesla began offering commercial rides in the Cybercab in Austin earlier this week. Riders have already used the vehicle's USB-C ports with controllers for built-in Tesla Arcade games. Musk's statement about plugging in external consoles suggests additional hardware support, such as video input capability, may be planned.
The feature would expand options beyond Tesla's native apps. It pairs with the vehicle's planned Starlink integration for high-speed internet during trips. Sources indicate the console connection could enable use of personal gaming hardware on the large in-cabin display.
Tesla has emphasized entertainment and connectivity as key differentiators for its robotaxi service. The Cybercab's development reflects ongoing efforts to make autonomous travel more appealing through in-vehicle amenities.
Tesla has not yet released a specific timeline or technical details, such as supported ports. The company continues to roll out the service in limited areas while advancing related software and hardware updates.
