No hits have been made in the Powerball jackpot drawing, as the prize total now nears the $1 billion territory.

Now sitting at a comfortable $975 million, with an estimated cash value of $422.3 million, Wednesday’s Powerball drawing will be one to keep a sharp eye on.

According to the Powerball website, this jackpot ranks as the eighth-highest in Powerball history and the largest prize of 2026.

If a winner is not selected on Wednesday’s drawing, this prize will roll over into the $1 billion territory, a feat achieved seven other times during Powerball’s history. The largest prize claimed was a single ticket win totaling $2.04 billion on Nov. 7, 2022, in California.

While the grand prize has not been won, several smaller prizes have been claimed, including two $1 million winning tickets sold in California and Maryland. The aforementioned tickets match all five white ball numbers.

Another ticket sold in Tennessee matched all five white balls and, because it included the Power Play option for an additional $1, increased its winnings to $2 million.

The press release adds that the overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9 and that the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.

Wednesday’s drawing is set for 10:59 p.m.
