Tesla is set to hold its Cybercab launch event later today in Austin, Texas. The presentation begins at 4:45 p.m. CDT at the company's Gigafactory Texas facility.

The two-seat Cybercab features no steering wheel or pedals and relies on Tesla's Full Self-Driving software for autonomous operation. It joins an existing fleet of modified Model Y vehicles already providing unsupervised robotaxi rides in Austin. Social media users noted hundreds of Cybercabs already providing rides around Austin.

Invitations went out to select Robotaxi riders and fans following a sweepstakes tied to recent trips. The event is invite-only but will be livestreamed for broader viewing. Attendees must be at least 21 years old.

Tesla has positioned the Cybercab as a key part of its push into autonomous ride-hailing. Production of the vehicle began earlier this year, with testing on public roads in Texas.

The launch comes as Tesla expands its robotaxi service in Texas and Florida. Recent regulatory approvals in other states have also supported broader autonomous vehicle operations.
