Croatia has officially joined NASA’s Artemis Accords, becoming the 74th country to sign the framework governing peaceful exploration and use of outer space.

The agreement establishes principles for responsible space exploration and encourages participating nations to cooperate on missions, scientific research, and the sustainable use of space resources.

Croatia’s addition expands the international coalition supporting the Artemis program, NASA’s effort to return astronauts to the Moon and establish a foundation for future human missions to Mars.

The Artemis Accords emphasize that space exploration should be conducted for peaceful purposes and in accordance with international law. Participating nations also commit to practices intended to promote transparency, interoperability, and the safe operation of space activities.

Croatia’s signing adds another European nation to the growing list of Artemis Accords partners as the United States works with international allies on future lunar exploration.
