Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” has officially become the longest-running No. 1 song in Billboard Hot 100 history after spending its 23rd week at the top of the chart. The milestone puts Langley ahead of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which previously held the record with 22 weeks at No. 1.

Released in October 2025, “Choosin’ Texas” became Langley’s first song to reach the Hot 100’s top 10 before eventually reaching No. 1 in February 2026. The song has since returned to the top spot multiple times, including a current run that has lasted 12 weeks.

The song’s record-breaking run extends beyond its Hot 100 performance. “Choosin’ Texas” has also spent 41 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, making it only the third song to spend more than 40 weeks atop that chart.

The track was co-written by Langley, Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor. Its success has helped propel Langley’s career after her 2024 collaboration with Riley Green, “You Look Like You Love Me,” and the release of her album Dandelion. Her other songs, including “Be Her” and “I Can’t Love You Anymore” with Morgan Wallen, have also reached the top five of the Hot 100.

“Choosin’ Texas” has also become a major streaming hit. Luminate reported that the song had generated 911 million on-demand streams in the United States and 1.26 billion globally as of mid-August. Langley’s rise has made the record particularly notable because a country song now holds the all-genre Hot 100 record for the most weeks spent at No. 1.
