Four people were killed and about 15 others injured in three separate shootings that struck Dallas' Deep Ellum neighborhood in the early hours of Sunday morning following Halloween celebrations.

Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux confirmed the toll during a Sunday morning news conference, noting that the incidents occurred between roughly midnight and 1:35 a.m. across locations in the popular entertainment district. The first shooting was reported around 12:19 a.m. in the 2600 block of Elm Street. A second followed shortly after 1 a.m. in the 2600 block of Main Street. The third took place around 1:35 a.m. in the 200 block of South Crowdus Street.

Investigators have not determined whether the shootings were connected, though they unfolded within about an hour and a half of each other. Comeaux stated that detectives continue to piece together details from each scene. Police have made at least one arrest and are questioning additional individuals while searching for more suspects.

The neighborhood, crowded with Halloween revelers, saw multiple blocks shut down as officers from across the city responded to the crime scenes. Several injured victims self-transported to local hospitals, keeping the injury count fluid. Police have asked the public to submit any videos or photos from the night to assist the investigation.

This violence follows other incidents in Deep Ellum this year, including a prior shooting on Elm Street in August. Officials emphasized ongoing efforts to review surveillance footage and canvass the area for witnesses. No victim names or further details on suspects have been released publicly at this time.
