Jamar Goff, the foster son of Food Network personality and author Ree Drummond, was arrested Sept. 15 on the campus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and faces several charges, including drug possession, second-degree assault on a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, and attempting to elude officers.

According to reports, officers responded to a call about a suspicious person and found Goff shirtless and asleep. He allegedly told them he was there to buy drugs but was initially allowed to leave. When officers later learned of an outstanding warrant and returned to arrest him, Goff allegedly struck an officer with an open palm and fled. He is also accused of biting an officer’s hand during the struggle.

The warrant stemmed from a prior incident. On May 23, 2025, Goff was arrested on a third-degree domestic violence charge after his then-girlfriend alleged he shoved her to the ground by the neck. She obtained a protective order requiring him to stay at least 500 feet away from her.

Drummond, known as the “Pioneer Woman,” has written publicly about fostering Goff and described him as “an inextricable part of our wacky family” in a 2020 book. She and her husband, Ladd, also have four biological children: Alex, Paige, Bryce, and Todd. In 2019, their daughter Paige was arrested for underage drinking.

Goff remains facing the new campus-related charges in addition to the earlier domestic-violence case.
