Russian ballistic missiles struck a university campus in Kyiv late Monday evening, killing one person and injuring at least ten others in an attack that damaged student dormitories and other civilian sites.

The strike hit the grounds of the State University of Trade and Economics in the Desnianskyi district east of the Dnipro River. Ukrainian officials reported damage to university buildings, dormitories, nearby residences, and medical facilities. A second wave of missiles early Tuesday targeted infrastructure on the Southern Bridge, disrupting metro service.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the attack killed one person near a supermarket and injured ten, many of them students outside a dormitory. Rescue services later confirmed the death of a 46-year-old woman, with some reports placing total injuries at fifteen. Two medics responding to the scene were also hurt.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the missiles struck densely populated civilian areas with no military facilities nearby. He noted that delays in Western air defense supplies enable such attacks.

The incident occurred amid ongoing Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities. Emergency crews worked through the night to clear debris and search for trapped individuals. Officials urged residents to use shelters during air alerts.

The university, one of Kyiv's largest with over 15,000 students, saw several students hospitalized with serious injuries. No military targets were reported in the affected zone.
