The Lindner Center of Hope issued a categorical denial Sunday after independent journalists released audio suggesting Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico had been discharged from the facility during his recent campaign absence.
The Lindner Center of Hope has released a statement saying: “Representative James Talarico has never received treatment from Lindner Center of Hope.”

The denial comes after independent journalists Nick Sortor and Rhein Amacher released audio Sunday in which a woman answering a call to the Mason, Ohio, facility reportedly told Amacher that Talarico appeared to have been discharged earlier that evening. The employee was not publicly identified, and the original report did not include independent confirmation from the facility that Talarico had been a patient.
Talarico had been absent from in-person campaign events for approximately 12 days before reappearing Friday at the Austin City Limits music festival. His campaign had attributed the absence to recovery from the flu. The audio report raised questions about that explanation and drew a call from White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller for Talarico to release his medical records.
The facility’s statement directly contradicts the implication in the audio that Talarico had been a patient there. No independent confirmation of the original claim was provided, and the center’s denial leaves the report without corroboration from the institution itself.
