President Donald Trump announced the formation of the Super Intelligence Force, a new federal initiative tasked with coordinating the government’s efforts to ensure the United States remains a global leader in super intelligence.
Trump announced what he described as the Historic White House Accord on Super Intelligence, under which major technology companies came together to affirm their responsibilities to the American people.
“The Super Intelligence Force is tasked with coordinating the effort of the Federal Government to ensure that America continues to lead the World in Super Intelligence,” Trump said.
Trump described super intelligence as a technology that many believe could have an impact greater than the Industrial Revolution and the internet. He said the initiative will focus on protecting American interests while using the technology to improve the lives of Americans.
The Super Intelligence Force will coordinate federal engagement with consumers, public interest groups, religious organizations, critical infrastructure providers, and companies involved in super intelligence.
The force will be led by Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton, Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering and Chief Technology Officer Emil Michael, and Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor.
The group will report directly to Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles as the administration seeks to coordinate federal policy and engagement surrounding the rapidly developing technology.
