President Trump highlighted his administration's record on education and child protection in a statement emphasizing decisive action against radical ideologies.

"We banned transgender ideology and critical race theory in our schools, and ended the transgender mutilation of our beautiful children," the president said.

President Trump has made restrictions on gender-transition treatments for minors and changes to federal education policy central parts of his second-term agenda. In January 2025, he signed executive orders directing federal agencies to end support for certain medical interventions for minors and to address the promotion of what his administration described as “gender ideology” and “radical indoctrination” in K-12 schools.

The administration has also taken action concerning transgender participation in women’s sports and federal funding connected to gender-related policies. Trump has repeatedly described his approach as an effort to protect children from what he considers harmful or irreversible interventions.

During Thursday night’s speech, Trump presented those policies as part of a broader record of actions his administration has taken since returning to the White House, telling the convention audience that his administration had moved to change federal policy on issues affecting children and schools.

The remarks came as Trump used the RNC convention to review his administration’s record and rally Republican voters ahead of the November midterm elections
