The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Green Bay Packers 39-22 on Sunday in a Week 1 matchup at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

The Vikings trailed for much of the game before mounting a decisive fourth-quarter rally. After entering the last quarter down 22-17, they scored 22 unanswered points.

Minnesota's starting quarterback Kyler Murray left the game early in the first quarter, suffering a concussion on the eleventh snap of the game, and did not return. Backup Carson Wentz took over and orchestrated the comeback, completing key passes that includes three touchdowns.

Running back Aaron Jones Sr., a former Packer himself, also scored on a 3-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory. The Vikings converted all four red-zone opportunities.

Jordan Love threw for two touchdowns for the Packers, including a long 81-yard strike to Christian Watson early in the game. However, Green Bay did not manage any points in the fourth quarter and struggled on third downs. Penalties also proved costly for the Packers throughout the game.

The win improves the Vikings to 1-0, while the Packers fall to 0-1. The game featured strong individual performances from Jefferson and Watson on the receiving end. This game marks and end to Jefferson's touchdown drought; his two touchdowns scored today are equal to the two touchdowns that he scored all of last season.

Minnesota outgained Green Bay in total yards and controlled the clock and time of possession in the second half.
