The Indianapolis Colts have reportedly traded eight-time Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday in exchange for a 2027 third-round draft pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick.

Nelson, 30, was selected sixth overall by the Colts out of Notre Dame in the 2018 NFL Draft. He has earned Pro Bowl honors in each of his first eight seasons and has been named to multiple All-Pro teams. The left guard has started nearly every game of his career and ranks among the top performers at his position in pass-blocking and run-blocking metrics this season.

The deal comes two weeks before the Nov. 10 trade deadline. Nelson is in the final year of his contract with a $16 million base salary, and the Seahawks will assume the remaining prorated portion of approximately $9.77 million. He becomes an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.

Indianapolis enters the trade at 2-5 following a Week 7 loss. The team fired general manager Chris Ballard earlier this month, and the move signals the start of a roster reset under interim leadership. Acquiring draft capital now provides more immediate value than a potential compensatory pick if Nelson had departed in free agency next year.

Seattle, sitting at 4-3, adds an elite interior lineman to bolster its offensive line ahead of the next stretch of games. The acquisition could shift roles on the unit, with 2025 first-round pick Grey Zabel potentially moving to right guard. The Seahawks have shown willingness to make aggressive deadline moves to contend this season.
