Boise State leads No. 2 Oregon 17-14 at halftime in Eugene after a back-and-forth first half that has put the Broncos in position for a major upset.

Boise State struck first when quarterback Maddux Madsen connected with Cam Bates for a 13-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Oregon responded in the second quarter with a 1-yard touchdown run from Jordon Davison to tie the game.

The Broncos quickly answered as Madsen found Sire Gaines for a 38-yard touchdown, putting Boise State back in front. Boise State then added a 29-yard field goal to extend its advantage to 17-7.

Oregon closed the half with another touchdown, with Dante Moore finding Jamari Johnson for a 27-yard score with 26 seconds remaining. The Ducks' touchdown cut the deficit to three points heading into halftime.

Madsen has completed 7 of 13 passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns, while Moore has completed 18 of 23 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown for Oregon.

Despite Oregon holding an advantage in total yardage, Boise State has protected the football and controlled the clock for much of the half. The Broncos have also forced Oregon into one turnover.

The Broncos will look to maintain their lead in the second half as they attempt to pull off one of the biggest upsets of the opening weekend of the college football season.
