A new poll from Spry Strategies indicates that Tennessee Republicans favor U.S. Representative Tim Burchett to replace Senator Marsha Blackburn in the U.S. Senate.

The survey of likely Republican primary voters found Burchett at 32 percent support. Former Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs followed at 10 percent. U.S. Representative Chuck Fleischmann received 4 percent. Businessman Stuart McWhorter and state House Speaker Cameron Sexton each stood at 3 percent. Damon Hininger received 1 percent. Forty-seven percent of respondents remained undecided.

The results position Burchett as the early frontrunner in a potential open-seat contest. Blackburn has represented Tennessee in the Senate since 2019 after serving in the House. Burchett, a conservative congressman known for his focus on fiscal issues and border security, holds a clear lead among those with an opinion in the poll.

The large share of undecided voters suggests the race remains fluid. No primary date has been set, and candidate fields could expand. The poll was conducted among Tennessee Republicans and released on September 4, 2026.

Burchett has represented Tennessee's 2nd congressional district since 2019. His support in the survey reflects strong name recognition and alignment with core Republican priorities in the state.
