Real Truth Media announced today that Desirée Townsend will be joining the organization as their Chief Political Correspondent. The role will oversee all reporting regarding Congress, the White House, and key political developments across the nation.

The appointment marks Townsend’s transition from fully independent digital reporting to a formal correspondent role within an organized media company.

“I’m excited to join RTM and continue searching for the truth on Capitol Hill and beyond, digging deeper into the stories that matter to everyday Americans and bringing them directly to audiences in real time," Townsend said of the announcement.

Townsend has built a significant following through her independent coverage and advocacy in D.C., often reporting directly from the grounds of Capitol Hill via social media. She most recently gained prominence for her coverage and investigation over the scandal surrounding the declining health of Senator Mitch McConnell. Her investigation broke previously unreported findings that circulated widely on social media and numerous national news outlets.

Townsend has a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from UC Irvine and previously founded a trademark education and services company.

A spokesperson for Real Truth Media said in a statement that the company welcomes Townsend and looks forward to her contributions in their shared mission of unfiltered boots-on-the-ground journalism.
