President Donald Trump said Friday that he intends to spend “whatever amount of money necessary” from his MAGA Inc. political war chest to help Republican candidates in the 2026 midterm elections.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said MAGA Inc. has approximately $1 billion available and that he controls how the money is spent. He said he expects to direct between $400 million and $500 million toward Republican candidates ahead of the November elections.

“I’m going to spend whatever amount of money necessary to try to help us,” Trump said. “This is money from MAGA Inc. This is money that I control.”

Trump said he would make contributions to candidates he believes are deserving of support but did not provide a detailed list of races or campaigns that would receive funding.

The announcement comes with Republicans facing competitive congressional races across the country and seeking to retain their majorities in the House and Senate. Some Republican candidates and lawmakers had recently urged Trump to deploy more of MAGA Inc.’s funds as Election Day approaches.

MAGA Inc. is an independent expenditure-only political committee, commonly known as a super PAC. Unlike traditional campaign committees, super PACs can raise and spend unlimited amounts of money to advocate for or against candidates, although they cannot coordinate directly with candidates’ campaigns.

Trump also indicated that not all of the money necessarily would be spent during the 2026 cycle. He said some funds could be preserved for the 2028 presidential election, depending on his decisions.

The president’s comments represent a significant shift from the uncertainty surrounding when and how much MAGA Inc. would spend on congressional races. Recent reporting had highlighted concerns among some Republicans that the organization was holding substantial funds while candidates in competitive races awaited additional financial support.

With roughly two months remaining before the November 3 election, Trump is now signaling that a substantial portion of his political operation’s resources will be deployed to support Republican candidates.
