President Donald Trump will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks with remarks at the Pentagon.

This arrangement allows the president to deliver remarks, consistent with the National September 11 Memorial and Museum policy in New York that has prohibited political speeches since 2012 to maintain focus on victims and families. Vice President JD Vance is expected to represent the administration at the World Trade Center ceremony.

White House deputy press secretary Anna Kelly issued a statement highlighting the president's commitment. "As a proud New Yorker, President Trump has spoken about his own experiences watching the horrific events of September 11, 2001," Kelly said. "On the 25th anniversary of this tragic day, the President will remember those who were killed at the hands of evil terrorists, honor their loved ones, and pay tribute to the brave first responders who put their lives on the line to rescue their fellow Americans."

The attacks on September 11, 2001, killed nearly 3,000 people across the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Trump previously attended the Ground Zero ceremony in 2024.
