Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown will accept a plea deal that reduces his second-degree attempted murder charge and results in probation instead of prison, his attorney announced Wednesday.

Brown, 38, is scheduled to appear before Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Marisa Tinkler Mendez on Sept. 30 to formally enter the plea. The agreement replaces the original charge, which carried a potential 30-year sentence with a 20-year mandatory minimum, with aggravated assault and straight probation with no additional requirements such as community service or evaluations.

Attorney Mark Eiglarsh said in a statement that prosecutors offered terms Brown could not reasonably refuse despite his continued assertion of innocence and belief in a successful Stand Your Ground defense. Brown was arrested in November 2025 after spending months in Dubai and was extradited to face charges stemming from a May 16, 2025, incident.

The case arose from an altercation outside a celebrity boxing event hosted by streamer Adin Ross in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood. Brown was accused of grabbing a handgun from security and firing two shots at Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, with one bullet reportedly grazing the victim’s neck.

Brown had pleaded not guilty and filed a motion to dismiss based on Florida’s Stand Your Ground law. Nantambu’s attorney, Richard Cooper, indicated his client has forgiven Brown and supports resolution of the matter.

The plea allows Brown to avoid trial and any incarceration while bringing the case to a close.
