The Trump administration announced that Beni Rae Harmony, a 24-year-old White House correspondent for Real America's Voice, has been hired as an assistant press secretary. She will begin her new position on Monday.
Harmony joined Real America's Voice in September 2025 as a White House correspondent after leaving her role as a news anchor and lifestyle host at WICS Newschannel 20, an ABC affiliate in Springfield, Illinois. She had hosted the station's Marketplace show and produced features such as "Answering the Call," which highlighted local heroes and community stories.
Her departure from WICS followed a controversial suspension for delivering an on-air tribute to conservative activist Charlie Kirk after his assassination. Harmony, who had previously worked as a producer and administrator at Turning Point USA under Kirk and considered him a mentor, described the tribute as non-partisan. She posted the segment to her personal social media accounts and resigned after demands to remove it were made, stating that her decision was guided by her faith and love of country.
Prior to her television work, Harmony held roles in political communications, including as director of public affairs for a U.S. political campaign and deputy press secretary for members of the U.S. House of Representatives. She also hosted a radio show and engaged in podcast production.
Harmony posted on social media Friday evening announcing the move, saying she looks forward to "serving the American people and continuing to fight for the American Dream."

It’s been an honor to report, travel, and cover this historic administration as Senior White House Correspondent for Real America’s Voice. My goal has always been to ask the…
Sources said President Trump took notice of Harmony during her time covering the White House press pool, including trips with the president. Anna Kelly, the White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary, praised the hire. "Beni Rae Harmony has been a trusted voice for the MAGA movement as a White House correspondent," Kelly said. "She will be an outstanding addition to President Trump’s communications team as an Assistant Press Secretary -- we look forward to having her on board!"
The appointment comes as the administration continues to fill available communications positions with individuals who have demonstrated alignment with key conservative priorities.
