The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Indianapolis Colts 33-30 in overtime Sunday night, overcoming a late Indianapolis rally and several tense moments in extra time. The victory moved Kansas City to 2-0, while the Colts fell to 0-2.

Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs with 382 passing yards and three touchdowns on 32-of-47 passing. Travis Kelce caught nine passes for 101 yards and a touchdown, while running back Kenneth Walker III added 117 rushing yards and 61 receiving yards.

Indianapolis led 20-17 at halftime after Jonathan Taylor broke loose for a 24-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter. Taylor finished with 92 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while quarterback Daniel Jones threw for 210 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Kansas City regained control in the third quarter when Mahomes connected with Jalen Royals for a touchdown, then extended the advantage with a Butker field goal. The Colts answered with a long fourth-quarter drive capped by Taylor's second touchdown, tying the game at 27 with 5:37 remaining.

The game became even more dramatic in overtime. Butker initially gave Kansas City a 30-27 lead with a 31-yard field goal, but Indianapolis appeared to stay alive when Jones hit Laquon Treadwell for a 48-yard gain. A fumble initially appeared to give the Chiefs the ball, but replay determined Treadwell was down by contact. The Colts settled for a 38-yard field goal from Spencer Shrader to tie the game again.

With 3:11 remaining, Kansas City got the ball back. Walker picked up key yards on the ground before Mahomes connected with him for a 22-yard gain that put the Chiefs in position for the winning kick. Butker then drilled the 40-yard field goal as time expired, giving Kansas City the victory.

The Chiefs will travel to face the Miami Dolphins next Sunday, while the Colts return home to host the Houston Texans.
