Starlink announced the initiative on November 6, inviting people to create advertisements for its satellite internet service using Grok Imagine, the video-generation tool developed by Elon Musk's xAI. The company encouraged participants to develop their own concepts, publish their videos on X, and submit them for consideration through its website.
The advertisements must be 30 seconds long and in English. Starlink requires creators to use Grok Imagine to produce the video and image content, as well as any character voices. Other tools may be used for editing, music, and sound effects. The company said strong submissions should demonstrate creativity, storytelling, accurate information about Starlink's products and the value of its satellite internet service.
Participation is limited to U.S. residents who are at least 18 years old. Submissions must be posted on X with the phrase “Big game @Starlink ad” and also submitted through the company's website. The deadline is November 29, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time.
Despite the promotional opportunity, Starlink's official terms clarify that the initiative is a content submission program rather than a traditional contest or sweepstakes. There is no cash prize, and submitting an advertisement does not guarantee that it will appear during the Super Bowl. Starlink reserves the right to feature some, all, or none of the entries, with selected creators potentially required to sign a separate agreement.
The campaign follows SpaceX's first-ever Super Bowl commercial for Starlink, which aired during Super Bowl LX in February 2026. That advertisement promoted the company's satellite internet service and its effort to provide connectivity in remote locations.
The next Super Bowl, Super Bowl LXI, is scheduled for February 14, 2027. Starlink's latest initiative allows creators to contribute to the company's advertising campaign while showcasing the capabilities of Grok Imagine
