President Donald Trump warned Thursday that Iran would be hit very hard if found responsible for an attack aboard a FlyDubai passenger jet bound for Israel.

Speaking to reporters at the White House before departing for Texas, Trump said intelligence indicated a possible Iranian link to the co-pilot's actions, though the matter remained under investigation. "We're working on it right now. They're being very open with us. Uh, I would say the answer based on what I'm hearing is yes, but we're working on it right now," Trump said.

When asked about potential involvement by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Trump replied that it could have been. Pressed on U.S. retaliation, he stated, "Oh, they'll be hit very hard. Don't worry. You just ask them. They know what happened. They'll be hit very hard."

The incident occurred on FlyDubai Flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The Omani co-pilot allegedly stabbed the Indian captain, Smit Machchhar, and attempted to crash the aircraft carrying 182 people, mostly Israelis. Passengers and crew intervened after the plane lost significant altitude, enabling an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. The captain unlocked the cockpit door despite his injuries.

The United Arab Emirates has launched an investigation into the event. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the co-pilot as having undergone Islamist radical indoctrination and called the passengers and pilot heroes.

Trump did not provide specific evidence of Iranian involvement and emphasized that probes continue. The warning comes amid heightened tensions in the region and stalled diplomatic efforts.

No verified evidence of a Tehran connection has emerged as of Friday.
