The United States women's basketball team advanced to the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup final with a 76-66 victory over Spain in the semifinals on Saturday in Berlin.

Breanna Stewart scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Americans, who improved to 6-0 in the tournament. The U.S. trailed early but responded with an 11-0 run in the first quarter and pulled away with a strong fourth quarter.

Spain jumped to a 9-1 lead, but the U.S. quickly erased the deficit. The teams were tied at 58 entering the fourth quarter before the Americans outscored Spain 18-8 in the final period.

The victory marks the fifth consecutive World Cup final appearance for the United States, which has won the last four titles. The Americans have not lost in the tournament since 2006.

They will face France in Sunday's final, a rematch of the 2024 Paris Olympics gold medal game that the U.S. won by a single point. France defeated host Germany 86-64 in the other semifinal.

Caitlin Clark contributed to the U.S. bench effort that helped shift momentum early. Kahleah Copper added 13 points in the win.

The tournament is being held in Berlin through September 13. The U.S. enters the final on a long winning streak in Olympic and World Cup play.
