Former Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin was arrested Thursday evening by the Bourbon County Sheriff's Office while on the set of a Christmas movie being filmed at a horse farm estate in Paris, Kentucky.

Sheriff Tony Asbury said in a press release that dispatch received a tip around 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 3 reporting Bevin's presence at the location and confirming an active warrant. Deputies took him into custody shortly afterward without incident, describing him as very cooperative.

Bevin, who served as governor from 2015 to 2019, faces a contempt of court charge in Jefferson Family Court. The warrant stems from his failure to provide financial records in an ongoing divorce and child support case involving his ex-wife, Glenna Bevin, and one of their adopted children, Jonah Bevin.

Jefferson Family Court Judge Angela Johnson issued the arrest warrant on June 5 after Bevin repeatedly missed deadlines to turn over documents such as bank statements and tax returns. The order requires him to serve 60 days in the Louisville Metro jail and pay a $500 fine.

Bevin was first lodged at the Bourbon-Nicholas County Region Detention Center before being transferred to Louisville Metro Corrections, where he remained as of Friday morning. No bail has been set in the case.

According to reports, Bevin was serving as a featured extra in the production of a Christian film titled "The Greatest Christmas Gift of All."

Bevin's attorney has not yet commented on the arrest. The former governor is scheduled to appear in Jefferson Family Court at 1 p.m. Friday.
