A 40-year-old Los Angeles man and former podcaster has been arrested after a federal grand jury indicted him on charges of threatening to kill President Donald Trump, cyberstalking, and making harassing telephone calls, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California.

Benjamin Azariah Southworth was arrested Thursday morning in Los Angeles’ Westlake neighborhood. The indictment returned Wednesday alleges that Southworth used YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and a personal website between January and May 2026 to make threats against Trump and encourage harassment of the president and his supporters.

Prosecutors allege that Southworth posted a video on Instagram on April 7 containing threats against Trump, including statements calling for the president’s execution and saying, “Kill Donald Trump.”

The indictment also alleges that Southworth previously posted the home address of an attorney who had served as Trump’s personal lawyer, along with photographs of the attorney and his residence. The post allegedly included the message, “No peace for traitors.”

According to prosecutors, Southworth subsequently left abusive messages online and through voicemail for the attorney’s son and made harassing telephone calls to the attorney’s wife between January and May.

The case is being investigated by the U.S. Secret Service and FBI. Federal prosecutors said Southworth faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison if convicted of threatening the president, another five years for cyberstalking and up to two years for interstate telephone harassment.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office emphasized that the charges remain allegations. Southworth is presumed innocent unless and until he is proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.

The arrest comes as federal authorities continue investigating threats against the president and other public officials. The Secret Service and FBI are handling the investigation, with the case being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California.
