First Lady Melania Trump criticized late-night host Jimmy Kimmel and urged ABC to take action after comments made during a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! that referenced her in a satirical monologue.

Writing on X from her official account, Melania Trump said Kimmel’s remarks were not comedic and instead contributed to what she described as deepening division in the country.

“Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy; his words are corrosive and deepen the political sickness within America,” she wrote.

She further accused Kimmel of hiding behind his network, saying he was protected by ABC leadership, and called on the company to intervene. “Enough is enough,” she added, urging the network to “take a stand” regarding his on-air conduct.

The comments followed a segment in which Kimmel made a remark directed at the First Lady during a mock White House Correspondents’ Dinner-style roast, drawing audience reaction in the studio.

The exchange comes amid heightened attention on security and political tensions in Washington following a shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in which a Secret Service agent was injured, and the event was later canceled.

Separately, President Donald Trump has also criticized Kimmel in recent remarks, calling for accountability from Disney and ABC regarding the host’s commentary.

Kimmel, who remains under contract with ABC through 2027 following a recent extension, has previously faced backlash over political remarks made on-air that critics have argued crossed into partisan commentary.
