NASCAR drivers Ryan Blaney and Carson Hocevar exchanged punches on pit road following a contentious incident during Saturday night's Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Blaney, driving the No. 12 Ford for Team Penske, confronted Hocevar near the No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet after the race. Video showed Blaney shoving Hocevar before the younger driver responded with two right hooks that sent Blaney to the ground. Blaney rose and threw a left hook of his own before crew members and officials separated the pair.

The fight stemmed from contact with 43 laps remaining while the drivers battled for second place. Hocevar's Chevrolet made contact with Blaney's Ford, sending it spinning into the wall. Blaney, who had led a race-high 202 laps, finished 33rd. Hocevar recovered to place third.

Blaney had warned reporters immediately after the wreck that "something is going to happen." He later expressed frustration over the move, stating that Hocevar crossed over without lifting.

Hocevar defended his actions in the race, saying he was not trying to wreck Blaney and that the contact occurred as he attempted to hold his position. After the fight, he noted there was little talking and that he was not going to back down.

Joey Logano won the race in his No. 22 Ford, advancing in the playoffs while the Blaney-Hocevar incident dominated post-race discussion. The confrontation highlighted ongoing tensions around aggressive driving in the series, with Hocevar having drawn criticism from several veterans for similar incidents earlier in the season.

Blaney currently sits sixth in the Cup Series standings, while Hocevar ranks eighth. Neither driver reported serious injuries from the altercation.
