The incident occurred in the second half of the contest at Ford Field. No immediate update on Campbell's condition was available as the scene unfolded.
Fellow Lions linebacker Jimmy Rolder was also receiving treatment for what appeared to be a serious injury during the same game.
The Lions suffered multiple injuries throughout the contest. Several players left the field with various ailments, further testing the depth of the roster amid an extended medical response.
Campbell, a first-round pick out of Iowa in 2023, has been a key starter for the Lions defense. Through six games this season, he recorded 54 tackles. He signed a four-year contract extension worth $81 million earlier this year.
The Lions entered the matchup with a 4-2 record while the Vikings stood at 6-0. The game remained competitive at the time of the injury.
The combination of injuries highlighted challenges for the Detroit squad as they pushed to maintain their position in the standings.
Updates on Campbell's status and the condition of other injured players will be provided as they become available from team officials.
