On Tuesday, Ohio Representative Max Miller posted on his official X account, saying, “In light of all the renewed interest in my family affairs, I am going to file my own paperwork for an ethics investigation into myself to clear my name from these horrific attacks on myself and family. I have absolutely nothing to hide."

In addition, Miller said all necessary documents will be provided to the committee for this detailed examination, saying, “The accusations continue to change, but my facts stay the same.”

The former advisor to President Donald Trump has come under fire for the domestic abuse allegations, as he continues to remain in the race for his Ohio congressional seat. Amid this controversy, calls have been made for Miller to drop out of the race and instead call for a special election.

Ohio Senator Bernie Moreno, who is Miller’s former father-in-law, called for the GOP representative's resignation, saying Miller “needs serious psychological help.”

President Donald Trump weighed in on the situation, praising Miller as “a good person” while being interviewed by reporters in the Oval Office. “I always thought he was a very good person, and I’m going to let the families figure that out.”

If Miller chooses to withdraw, in accordance with Ohio state law, the county party chairs in his district, which includes Medina and Wayne counties, and parts of Cuyahoga and Holmes counties, would choose a candidate at a meeting.

The deadline for Miller to withdraw is 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday.
