President Donald Trump accused lawyers involved in the Alaska Senate race controversy of hiding Daniel J. Sullivan Jr., the second candidate named Dan Sullivan on the state's ballot, alleging they are coaching him on how to avoid prosecution in what the president described as one of the greatest fraud cases in American history.
In a Truth Social post, Trump directly questioned why the candidate, whom he has repeatedly called "Decoy Dan," has seemingly disappeared from public view.
"The reason nobody can find the FAKE Dan Sullivan is that the Lawyers have 'scooped' him up, and are hiding him as they teach him, step by step, what to say in order to avoid one of the Greatest Fraud Prosecutions in American History!" Trump wrote.
The president went on to accuse the attorneys involved of criminal conduct and alleged that senior Democratic Party officials were part of the effort.
"The lawyers involved in this case are Criminals, and should be treated as such. The Highest Levels of the Dumocrat Party are involved in this Criminal Endeavor," Trump continued.
Trump also called for Democratic Senate candidate Mary Peltola to resign and face criminal charges alongside Daniel J. Sullivan Jr., whom he described as a fake candidate who is now "MISSING IN ACTION!"

The controversy centers on allegations that Democratic operatives connected to Peltola's campaign and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee helped recruit a candidate sharing the Republican incumbent's name in an effort to confuse voters and weaken Sen. Dan Sullivan's reelection campaign.
The New York Times previously reported on text messages and discussions involving Democratic operatives seeking someone with the same name as the Republican senator. The effort ultimately involved Daniel J. Sullivan Jr., a retired schoolteacher from Petersburg, Alaska, who entered the race as a Republican before appearing on the general election ballot without a party affiliation.
Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. has denied being recruited by Peltola's campaign or running at the direction of Democratic operatives. Peltola has also denied knowing about the alleged recruitment effort.
The FBI has been investigating the controversy, including interviewing donors in Petersburg and examining the circumstances surrounding the second Sullivan's candidacy. The investigation has intensified scrutiny of the political operation and the relationships between those involved.
Federal authorities have not announced criminal charges against Peltola, Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. or other individuals connected to the allegations. Trump's accusations remain allegations, not established findings of criminal wrongdoing.
The Justice Department has also pursued legal action over concerns that the candidates' nearly identical names could confuse voters. A federal judge dismissed the department's lawsuit seeking to preserve and segregate certain ballots, prompting the Justice Department to announce plans to appeal.
With Election Day approaching on Tuesday, November 3, the controversy has become a major issue in Alaska's Senate contest. Trump's latest statement adds to the pressure on Peltola as investigators continue examining whether Democratic operatives coordinated the recruitment of a second Dan Sullivan to influence the election.
